Online Prescription

Get professional healthcare online without waiting for a traditional office appointment. Our online prescription service allows you to complete a structured medical evaluation with a licensed healthcare provider and receive a treatment plan based on your symptoms, medical history, current medications, and allergies.

This is not a "quick prescription" service. Every visit follows a clinical workflow designed to support safe and appropriate treatment. You complete a guided intake, your case is reviewed by a licensed provider, and you receive recommendations based on the information collected during the evaluation.

If prescription medication is medically appropriate, an electronic prescription may be issued and sent to Hersey Pharmacy for fulfillment. If medication is not appropriate, the provider may recommend another treatment approach, additional evaluation, or in-person care.

Online care is intended for non-emergency concerns that can be evaluated remotely using the information you provide during your visit.

How Telemedicine Prescriptions Work

Step 01 - Start Intake

Complete a structured questionnaire covering your symptoms, how long they have been present, your medical history, current medications, allergies, and other information relevant to your care.

Step 02 - Provider Review

A licensed healthcare provider reviews your information and may ask follow-up questions when additional details are needed. Warning signs are also considered to determine whether online care is appropriate or whether you should be evaluated in person.

Step 03 - Treatment Plan

You receive treatment recommendations and guidance about the next steps. When medication is recommended, instructions may include how to use it, important precautions, what to expect, and when follow-up care may be needed.

Step 04 - Prescription if Appropriate

If prescription treatment is clinically appropriate, the provider may issue an electronic prescription and send it to Hersey Pharmacy. Our pharmacy team can then process the prescription based on medication availability, insurance requirements, and applicable pharmacy regulations.

What You Receive After Your Visit

  • Clinical assessment and treatment recommendations
  • Personalized treatment plan
  • Medication guidance and usage instructions when applicable
  • Information about precautions, side effects, and expectations

Health Concerns That May Be Evaluated Online

Depending on your symptoms and the provider's clinical judgment, many non-emergency concerns may be suitable for an online evaluation. Examples can include:

  • Common minor illnesses and non-emergency symptoms
  • Allergy and minor respiratory concerns
  • Minor skin concerns and irritation
  • Uncomplicated urinary symptoms
  • Minor digestive concerns
  • Other conditions that can be safely evaluated remotely

If your symptoms require a physical examination, laboratory testing, imaging, a procedure, or urgent treatment, you may be directed to appropriate in-person care.

When Prescriptions Are Issued

Prescriptions are never guaranteed. A licensed healthcare provider will prescribe medication only when it is medically appropriate based on your symptoms, medical history, current medications, allergies, and clinical evaluation.

A prescription may be issued when:

  • The condition can be reasonably evaluated through online care
  • Prescription treatment is clinically appropriate
  • No significant warning signs or contraindications are identified
  • Remote care provides enough information for a safe treatment decision

A prescription may not be issued when:

  • Your symptoms are serious, unclear, or potentially urgent
  • An in-person examination is necessary
  • Laboratory testing, imaging, or another diagnostic procedure is required
  • There are medication safety concerns or contraindications
  • The requested medication is not appropriate for your condition or the online care setting

Safety and Clinical Standards

  • Identity and patient information verification
  • Symptom and medical history review
  • Medication and allergy screening
  • Red-flag and safety screening
  • Clinical documentation
  • Follow-up and in-person care recommendations when needed
